Google Now, New Service from Google

Google Now mobile personal assistant, displays useful information to the user in real time

Since last year Google have a new mobile personal assistant called Google Now. This service is a pioneer in his field, but that adds to other attendees already on the market, such as those based on voice recognition,
which highlights Siri for iOS and Android similar. The difference from the rest is that Google Now intends to anticipate user needs to provide accurate information at the right time and automatically. This and other features of this personal assistant for Android devices and iOS 4 are explained below.

In order to anticipate the needs of its users, Google Now learns of data stored by themselves in the universe of Google applications and services. In this way, you have access to calendars, as well as inquiries made through the browser and even emails. For birthday alerts, use the contact data in Google Plus.

This information is contextualized with the user's position to give the GPS navigator device. Thus, Google Now can perform multiple tasks, such as alerting the user that will not reach a meeting time if it does not then or tell the nearest route to a destination previously searched.

Warning Cards

This information is shown through cards that the user can turn on or off at any time. Currently, there are 30 cards available, among which the activity summary, birthdays, events, flights, boarding passes, upcoming appointments, public warnings, sports, traffic and weather.

However, for now Google Now does not show too much activity and many of the content tabs are not active outside the United States. The most common is to display the weather of the location where the user is, a route to a destination or updated sports information.

Users can interact with Google Now through typed commands or by voice. Among the types of queries that can be performed by voice is the query time, nearby, flight status, world time or basic math operations.

For now, Google Now has voice recognition commands in English, but in early April he was active in Spanish on a temporary basis for a few days. This suggests that it was a Google development test and in the near future will be available officially. In addition, improvements in speech recognition are constant in each new version to fit a natural language search.

In this regard, it is important to note that the first use of Google Now automatically activates the user's location history, as well as of searches through the search engine. These functions can be overridden manually from the user's account. However, it is reactivated every time you use Google Now.
